A warning to petrol station owners and staff

LINDEN – The Linden police are warning owners of petrol filling stations about a new crime trend whereby gas canisters are stolen.

The Linden police would like to issue a warning to owners of petrol filling stations in the area about a new crime trend.

According to Linden Police Station Commander Colonel Ahmed Musthan, suspects are targeting filling stations that sell LP gas cylinders and stealing them. The suspects are also growing increasingly aggressive.

“We are on the lookout for two males who drive a black Toyota Tazz with no registration number available.

“The suspects generally operate between 2am and 6am in the morning. We have had a few incidents where gas cylinders were taken, and a few where station forecourt staff fell victim to a robbery.”

The police warn that this could become a growing trend and encourage station operators and staff members to remain vigilant.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to the police immediately.
