Robinhills Primary accepts book donation

ROBINDALE – Robinhills Primary School receives welcome additions to their school library.

Robinhills Primary School was the gracious recipient of books donated by community members, facilitated by Cresta Shopping Centre. The mall ran a collection drive at the end of last year where shoppers were encouraged to donate books. The handover took place at the school’s library with representatives from Cresta’s marketing department, as well as the primary school.

Robinhills Primary School principal Royston Sanders accepted the books on behalf of the school. Sanders noted that many learners at the school were only able to access reading books through the school’s library. The donation was a welcome update to this library. The principal thanked Cresta, as well as all who donated books at the book drive.

Assistant Marketing Manager at Cresta, Lungile Khumalo, detailed that the school was their choice for the donation because it is within a 5km radius of the mall. This meant that the families which are members of the Robinhills Primary family are also shoppers at Cresta, in this way they are giving back to their community. This opportunity to reinforce a culture of education was eagerly taken up by the mall and was only the beginning of the mall’s plans to plough back into its community.

The learners present at the library were happy to be among the first to sample the new additions to the library. The morning continued with some learners getting an opportunity to read out loud, as well as play games with their visitors.
