Saints hosts Thandulwazi awards ceremony

LYME PARK – The Annual Thandulwazi Saturday School Programme Awards Ceremony took place on 15 February.


The Annual Thandulwazi Saturday School Programme Awards Ceremony took place on 15 February in Mears Hall at St Stithians College.

The school’s Annie Fyfe-Hitchings said that it was a heart-warming celebration recognising the top 2019 Grade 9 to 12 Saturday school programme learners.

The learners were presented with their certificates and prizes by the rector of St Stithians College Tim Nuttall, chairperson of the Thandulwazi Trust Thami Moatshe, chair of St Stithians College council Carel Nolte, and deputy chair of the council Ntombi Langa-Royds.

The attendees were treated to two exceptionally inspiring speakers and a dance recital, all of which were met with tremendous applause.

The head of Thandulwazi Maths and Science Academy Velaphi Gumbi said, “The Thandulwazi Academy Meritorious Awards Ceremony on Saturday acknowledged a job well done by both the 2019 Thandulwazi teachers and learners, but also conscientised them that the milestones achieved point to more opportunities ahead.”
