Cooper Troops use pizza power

NORTH RIDING – Cooper College Troops enter local schools pizza challenge to win the environmental battle.

Cooper College has taken it upon themselves to create a signature pizza for Mimmos in Douglasdale.

The school in Northriding’s involvement has formed part of the #SchoolsPizzaChallenge, where local schools have entered a competition and win a cash prize to invest in a project designed to benefit the community.

The ‘Cooper Trooper’ has been made available at the Italian restaurant and boasts delicious toppings which included cherry tomatoes, bacon, onion, mushroom and avocado. This flavourful combination has promised mouth-watering deliciousness for a great cause. The winner of the #SchoolsPizzaChallenge will earn the right to brag as well as R10 000. The cash prize has been outlined as a contribution to the winning school’s initiative of their choice.

In Cooper College’s case, the troops have prioritised a project which is centred on environmentalism. Should the Cooper Trooper win the title of most purchased pizza in the competition, the school has planned to invest some of their prize money the school’s Spekboom Challenge, as well as their infrastructure which will allow the school and community members to recycle material which they no longer have use for.

If you want to help the Cooper Troops to play their role in a reduced carbon footprint, and fight for the re-use of recyclable materials make your way to the Douglasdale restaurant and ask for their signature pizza. Once you have purchased the pizza, be sure to post a picture online with the hashtag #SchoolsPizzaChallenge, as well as email the school your pizza snaps at lee.c1@curro.co.za
