Bennies Book Fayre awaits you

PINE PARK – The book fair will introduce young readers to an array of children's books authors who plan incite a love of books to all children.

The School Reading Roadshow brings you Bennies Book Fayre, an event all avid readers should attend, especially young book lovers.

This will be the first children’s book fair and will take place on 14 March, hosted at St. Benedict’s Prep School. Young readers will meet and greet with local writers whose books also have a wide international audience.

One of the 50 authors who will be there to inspire young minds is Pine Park’s very own, Evadeen Brickwood, who writes fantasy novels for teenagers to young adults. Her love of reading started at a very young age and through the love of writing unique stories, she has managed to garner a strong audience in not only Africa, but Europe too.

The fair will have a variety of children’s authors, and for her, book fairs like these are important because its objective is to not only get children reading but to fall in love with it too. The reading roadshow has travelled throughout the nation to get children excited about reading. Along with hoping to inspiring young avid readers, Brickwood will also educate them on how to write a book, the process of getting a book published, and on all the aspects involved in seeing your book on a shelf one day, “There are talented writers out there who might not even know they have it, we just want to excite children about books in general,” she explained.

This fair will run for just one day and the organisers hope that it will encourage both the young and the young at heart to dream even bigger.
