CHOC’s new annual event – Flip Flop Day will set your toes free

JOBURG – Wear your flip flops and purchase a Flip Flop sticker this Valentine's Day to raise money towards the fight against childhood cancer.

CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa has an amazing new annual event, Flip Flop Day launching on 14 February 2020 to raise funds for the cause against childhood cancer.

If you have Valentine’s Day plans, add Flip Flop Day as one of your priorities.

Taryn Seegers, communication coordinator at CHOC SA says the day a parent hears that their child has cancer is probably the most unnatural day of their lives and going forward the amount of treatment the child goes through is a hard watch.

CHOC assists parents and children with support programmes, once diagnosed, CHOC offers accommodation, transport, awareness and education, advocacy with additional programmes.

Seegers said on Flip Flop Day they want to find supporters who want to set their 10 toes free by paying R10 and flipping on some flops to show their support for this amazing cause.

CEO of CHOC, Carl Queiros said, “Flip flops are basically a South African wardrobe pre-requisite. Everyone wears them and everyone loves them. The journey that children and teenagers with cancer face are in no way light-hearted at all, but creating an annual event like Flip Flop Day that raises money towards childhood cancer awareness, is definitely a time to be joyous and needs a fully loaded feel-good factor. ”

To purchase a Flip Flop sticker, visit your nearest CHOC regional office or a PNA stationers store.
