Shout-out with police leaves one suspect injured in Randburg

RANDBURG – Police arrested two suspects at the scene.


A male suspect was left critically injured following a shoot-out with police on the corner of Malibongwe Drive and Avon Road, Randburg on 31 January.

ER24 paramedics spokesperson Russel Meiring said in a statement that their paramedics arrived on the scene around 1.30pm with police already on the scene.

Randburg police spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said two suspects were arrested at the scene for the possession of car-breaking implements, theft out of motor vehicle, he added that the police are investigating the incident further and could not release more information.

Spokesperson for  ER24 Russel Meiring said paramedics found the man with a gunshot wound which left him in critical condition.

The man was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported, under the supervision of the local police to a nearby hospital for further care.
