A woman was shot dead in the parking lot of the Eagle’s Landing Shopping Centre late in the evening of 17 January.
According to a post on the Honeydew CPF Sector 2 Facebook page, the incident occurred at about 9.45pm, and involved a female victim.
CPF members “rushed to the scene and found Vitalmed and Netcare 911 working on the female victim who sadly was fatality shot. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim.”
The post goes on to state that Honeydew police arrived on the scene quickly, and that investigations are underway.
Community members reacted with shock, with many sharing condolences on social media.
Spokesperson for the Honeydew Police Station was not able to provide any further information but did confirm that a woman was killed at the shopping centre and that the incident followed an attempted hijacking.
