Randburg SPCA’s 2019 at a glance

NORTH RIDING – Randburg SPCA offers their closing sentiments for this year.

The Randburg SPCA is a “society against cruelty to all animals,[which uses] all available resources to educate residents and promote good animal care”. Animals have found their way to the shelter for a variety of reasons. General manager of the Randburg branch, Craig Rudman shared few words about the non-profit’s year.

“Our highlights have been the adoptions of the animals that have passed through our kennels. There is nothing more stimulating than knowing an animal has found a home to go to. Secondly all the companies and the community who have, and still are, supporting the society. Lowlights have been the number of animals being surrendered. Also due to the declining economy it has made a negative impact on the society’s ability to operate at a full capacity,” outlined Rudman.

The Randburg SPCA thanked their community, as they have been hands on in assisting the society and staff in development. The Randburg and surrounds community members have continued to be involved with the organisation in different ways. Monetary donations have remained the most needed form of donation for the costs of keeping the lights of the SPCA on.

Rudman concluded that. “My wish for next year is that there will be less to no cruelty to the animals and people will still support our society for us to carry on with what we do for the community. From the management, staff and committee we wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and a prosperous new year. We thank you all for your support through the years!”
