Merry Christmas from Ward 98

WINDSOR – 'When many would have given up, the residents of Ward 98 persevered' – Ward 98 councillor Beverley Weweje.

Ward 98 councillor Beverley Weweje writes:

Reminiscing on 2019 fills me with gratitude. I am grateful to the residents of Ward 98, who during both our victories and challenges have risen and shone as an example to the rest of our city.

The constant aggravation of potholes forming in Republic Road is a thing of the past.

City Power’s recent upgrade of the Roosevelt substation, even though not in our ward, certainly is much appreciated. The constant power outages which affected half of Ward 98 residents, was as a direct result of the lack of capacity and ageing infrastructure at the Roosevelt Substation.

The replacing of underground copper cabling with aluminium cabling and the replacement of damaged underground cabling remains a continuous project.

Despite our challenges with entities, companies and individuals, our community showed an uncanny knack for rallying together.

When many would have given up, the residents of Ward 98 persevered.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish the residents of Ward 98, whom I am honoured to serve, a blessed Christmas.
