Festive season anti-crime operations kick off

HONEYDEW – Festive season anti-crime operations kicked-off in Honeydew on 22 November.


Honeydew police took part in various operations across the Honeydew policing area during the launch of festive season anti-crime operations and safety campaigns on 22 November.

The Honeydew police’s Sector 3 manager Captain Karen Jacobs said the operations were to show a visible policing presence in the area.

“We are here today to show the community that we are working hard toward a safer festive season for all, and we are making our presence known,” she said.

Working in conjunction with security companies and the Gauteng Traffic Police, the police handed out crime awareness and safety tips to passing motorists at various busy intersections.

Multiple roadblocks were also set up at strategic locations for the police to conduct stop and searches on vehicles to look for any criminal activity.

Operations such as this will be conducted throughout the festive season in the area.

The community is further encouraged to report crime and remain vigilant over the festive season.
