Two seriously injured after a truck and car collision

RANDBURG – A jack-knifed truck leaves two seriously injured and resulted in major delays this morning[ 19 November] on the N1 North.


There was a car and truck collision on the N1 North after Malibongwe Drive this morning[ 19 November], that left two seriously injured and caused major traffic congestion.

The ER24 paramedics reported that they arrived on the scene at 6.15 am. On arrival, they found a truck parked across four lanes of the highway, while a light motor vehicle was found to the rear of the truck.

According to ER24, medics assessed a man and woman from the light motor vehicle and found that they had sustained numerous injuries and were in a serious condition.

The two patients were treated for their injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries.

Traffic was heavily affected due to the collision, as well as motorist utilising the emergency lane. However, the traffic is now cleared and the road is safe to use.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
