Young Scout donates anthracite stove with Randburg’s help

BUCCLEUCH – Tanna Bailes searched for the perfect charitable organisation she could assist in their continued efforts to effect positive change.

Tanna Bailes searched for the perfect charitable organisation she could assist in their continued efforts to effect positive change. One day by chance, she heard about Village Safe Haven on a local radio station. It was after that she set out to raise funds for the organisation.

After Tanna discovered Village Safe Haven, she decided to approach them in August to hear about the organisation. Since then, the Scout has amassed a total of

R13 859.10 from her collection at Summerfields Shopping Centre and Randridge Mall. She used this money raised in Randpark Ridge to purchase an anthracite stove in conjunction with the garden and greenhouse construction.

The anthracite stove served as another way the non-profit organisation has become more sustainable. Since the stove does not require electricity to work, it was the perfect donation to the childcare facility. A special thank you to Tanna, her Scout group hall based in Randburg and the Randpark Ridge community at large.

Tanna’s mom Kirsten Bailes was very proud of her daughter’s efforts, as she spoke to the Randburg Sun. She beamed at her daughter’s success while she remarked that we can learn a lot from the youth and how they come together so easily for a cause and are so supportive of their peers.
