BREAKING: Four Honeydew Police officers arrested on charges of murder

The Honeydew police’s Captain Balan Muthan can confirm that after an Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) investigation, four Honeydew police officers were arrested on 25 October.

The officers were arrested after the alleged assault of a man inside the police holding cells on 20 October.

The officers allegedly kicked the man to death.

A family member who had come to visit the man allegedly found his body lying dead in the holding cell.

Muthan confirmed that the officers have been charged with murder, defeating the ends of justice, and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The investigation into the matter will continue and the arrested officers will face their charges in court soon.
