City Power has confirmed that it is currently experiencing a major outage in Randburg due to a damaged cable that led to a transformer failure.
City Power said in a statement, “It is suspected that the cable was damaged by a third party working on-site. City Power and Eskom technicians are on-site, carrying out tests and repairs on the damaged equipment.”
Power restoration has not yet be determined.
Areas that are affected by the power outage include:
- Strydompark
- Bromhof
- Ferndale
- Boskruin
- Randpark Ridge.
