New leaders for Rand Park High School

RANDPARK RIDGE – The school announced its leaders at a formal assembly.

It is argued that people can become leaders through a process of teaching, learning and observation.

Although this theory makes the utmost sense, for those at Rand Park High School becoming a leader is more nuanced than that. To become a leader at the school, one has to have a great love for their school and be in service of it. They also have to have a great work ethic that is tied to a deep desire to constantly be part of a community of people who, just like them, want an environment that is holistic in its enrichment to all.

Recently, the school announced its new leaders for the 2020 academic year. They assumed their duties immediately as the current Grade 12 class prepares for their preliminary and final examinations.

To mark the announcement, a formal assembly was held by the school’s principal Alan Wilke where he announced the names of the new leaders. At the school, it is a tradition for a special Tie Ceremony to be held for parents and the newly inducted leadership. There, each leader was presented with a leader tie by their parents.

This symbolic gesture is said to build pride and signifies the importance of the tasks ahead as they help to lead the school. The school congratulates head boy and girl, Bryan Robinson and Tiayana Nappies as well their deputies, Lipalo Chibesa, Rinae Mamphaga, Angela Graham and Tlami Moilwa.
