Cupcakes 4 Kids raises money at Cresta
CRESTA – Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer was hosted by Cupcakes of Hope.
On 28 September, Cupcakes of Hope assembled at Cresta Shopping Centre for a good cause.
The cupcake angels came together and hosted South Africa’s National Cupcake Day 4 Kids with Cancer. This is the non-profit and public benefit organisation’s most anticipated event of the year.
Cupcakes of Hope is a national organisation committed to families who do not have enough money to pay for cancer treatment. Volunteers refer to themselves as Cupcake Angels, worked in shifts at the mall. This ensured that there were volunteers there all day to help raise money for the organisation. Cupcakes were donated by volunteers, in accordance with strict guidelines set out by Cupcakes of Hope, and sold for R10 to mall-goers.
Cresta Shopping Centre was one of 88 malls where the cupcake angels were there to ‘bake a difference’ –the first National Cupcake Day 4 Kids was hosted in 2012.
Lisa Blignaut was the lead coordinator at the Cresta Cupcakes 4 Kids stand was ‘still so amped’ when she caught up with the Randburg Sun at the start of the week. Due to security reasons, Blignaut was not able to share the amount made by the Cupcake Angels, however, she confirmed that the Cresta team raised more money than last year.
The organisation was very grateful to their sponsors Cresta Shopping Centre for the sponsored space on the day, as well as Connect A Floor for the flooring and DXF3D who sponsored their pink and white balloon arch.
