63 arrested in 10 days

HONEYDEW – The Honeydew Police arrested 63 suspects for various crimes in 10 days.


The Honeydew police are celebrating a bumper September after the arrest of 63 suspects for various crimes.

Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said, “We would like to congratulate our police members for making a large number of arrests in such a short period of time. These arrests are for multiple crimes.”

Muthan also noted a sharp increase in the number of arrests for shoplifting.

Muthan said, “Shoplifting and pickpocketing at shops are very common at this time of the year and we encourage shop owners and customers to be vigilant.”

He also noted that the number of incidents of crime in the area was down over the past month compared to that of the previous month.

Honeydew Police Station commander Brigadier Anesh Maharaj extended his word of thanks to all the police members who played a part in making the 63 arrests and encouraged them to continue the good work in keeping the crime rate down in the area.
