Joburg Water to conduct final verification of smart meters this weekend in Cosmo City
COSMO CITY – Joburg Water will be finalising the verification of the new smart metres from the 21 to 22 September.
Cosmo City residents have been advised by Johannesburg Water that their teams will be conducting final verification and quality check of newly installed smart metres that are in the area – out of a total of 5 000, 4 200 have already been verified.
The final verification will happen from 21 to 22 September, Joburg Water has asked residents whose smart metres have not been verified to provide access to their homes for the process to be completed.
The statement read, “The contractor will also be fixing leaks on the meters and customers can call the contractor on 067 403 6278 for assistance if they have leaking metres only.”
Activation of the smart metres will happen on 1 October, once the metre has been activated, the household will receive 2 kilolitres of water once-off, from there on customers are urged to purchase credit from these vending points:
- Bismillah Supermarket, Corner Sierra Leone and Central Africa Street
- Cosmo City Central Africa Shop, C935 Central African Road, Cosmo City
- Cosmo City Mauritania Supermarket, 1838 Mauritania Street, Cosmo City
- King Supermarket, 4272 Brazil Street and Equador Street
- Mum Supermarket 2, 4391 South Africa Drive, Cosmo City
- Pick n Pay, Shop No 62, Cosmo Mall, Malibongwe Drive, Cosmo City
- Viva Shop, 4720 Bolivia Street, Cosmo City
- Tawakal shop, 4141 Liberia Street and Brazi Street, Cosmo City.
Joburg Water added that residents are invited to their public meeting at Cosmo City Multipurpose Centre on 28 September 2019 at 10am, where outstanding queries will be addressed.
