Rand Park High Scoops the Vega win

RANDPARK RIDGE – Rand Park High matrics win Vega School's Gauteng competition.

On 11 May Rand Park’s team of Grade 12 learners Timothy Langa, Dharshan Moodley, Veekash Singh, and Kiash Chetty competed at the Vega School of Brand Leadership’s BizBrand Jam Competition and succeeded in clinching the win for the Johannesburg Region. The competition was hosted at the Bordeaux campus and was followed by their award presented to them on 22 July.

The team was tasked with competing in the business simulation project which required them to identify a business opportunity; develop plans to launch that business and consider strategic decisions that will affect its future success. Vega lecturers provided important information to the competition participants to inspire their conceptual development and branding ideas as well as information on how to add value to people’s lives while making a profit.

Naledi Shuenyane of Vega School presented the prizes to the team at Rand Park’s school formal assembly. The prizes included an R12 000 Takealot voucher for Rand Park High School and an R1 000 Takealot voucher for each member of the winning team.

Top schools throughout Gauteng participated in this event where the various school teams received online access to the business simulation programme and were tasked with starting and running a business and making strategic decisions for the business. One winning team was chosen from five teams per campus, with four students per team.
