Grade 12 Bella Meiring crowned 2019’s Ms Rand Park High School

RANDPARK RIDGE – There's a new Ms Rand Park on campus and her name is Bella Meiring.

What better way to end your years at high school than winning the schools Mr and Ms competition.

Grade 12 learner Bella Meiring did exactly that as she was crowned Ms Rand Park High on 27 July. She explained why she entered the showcase, “It’s my last year of high school and participating was a great way to have fun and make the most of the opportunity to raise funds for Rand Park.”

She managed to dodge her biggest fear going into the competition, which was embarrassing herself on stage in front of her schoolmates, and went on to win it all with elegance, grace and high stature.

The new Ms Rand Park was shocked to hear her name called by the emcees of the night. “It was completely unexpected and I felt like it was such an accomplishment.

“To be honest, I didn’t enter to win the pageant so it was a bonus to take home the crown, but it has given me such a self-confidence boost.”

Meiring expressed her love for the experience and fellow contestant. “The practices were definitely the best part of the competition. I was able to spend time with my friends and to make many new friendships. My two favourite contestants were Miss Personality, Nishttha Ramnath because her personality shone through on the night, and Hannah Hill because her positive energy was contagious.”

As the gracious winner Bella is, she attributed her victory to those who assisted her throughout the journey. “I would like to thank my fellow contestant, Hannah Hill, for her friendship and because she helped to calm my nerves and perfect my dance moves. I am also grateful to Mrs Stansell and Miss Shearing who organised the event as they gave the contestants such good tips and guidance on how to succeed and they made entering the competition great fun for us.”
