LPGas sponsors Life Tree in honour of Mandela Day

KYA SANDS – 67 Minutes is not enough for LPGas which sponsored sustainable assets to Life Tree Academy.

Life Tree Academy received donations from Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPGas) Safety Association of South Africa and others on Nelson Mandela Day on 18 July.

The schoolchildren excitedly soaked up all the excitement of the day and eagerly participated with the offloading and unwrapping of the donated items.

Two gas cylinders were donated by WASAA Gas and installed by Dirk Muller, the co-owner and commercial installer of Dirette. Two boiling tables, one donated by C8terman and the other by Fuel Gas Catering were received. The boiling tables will service the school as well as the soup kitchen which is run from the same location.

Public relations and media liaison officer of the association Gaahele Mokgoro said having worked with CEO of Life Tree Community Project, Carla Kamp before, she reached out and asked what was required at the school.

“It doesn’t help giving someone something that they don’t particularly need… C8terman and Fuel Gas responded by donating the two boiling tables and one of the steel tables,” she said.

The CEO of the association Kevin Robertson said, “Life Tree have been providing a caring service to the community in the Kya Sands area for many years now and aim to continue doing so going forward. The LPGas Safety Association and its members intend offering the same support to Life Tree – and not just for 67 minutes.”

Kamp encouraged the Randburg community to support the school. They can be reached on their Facebook page, Life Tree.
