Another accolade for Randburg Sun

Randburg Sun named in third place in the Best Corporate-Owned Free Newspaper with pagination of more than 24.

Friday last week (19 July) saw the hosting of the Forum of Community Journalist’s Excellence Awards at the Leriba Hotel and Spa in Pretoria, and Randburg Sun once again walked away with bragging rights.

The Randburg Sun was named in third place in the Best Corporate-Owned Free Newspaper with pagination of more than 24. Competing against community newspapers from different groups, outside of the Caxton Local Media stable is a great honour, and to achieve so highly was a testament to the hard work of the team involved.

The Randburg Sun’s sister publication, Northcliff Melville Times won its category – Best Corporate-Owned Free Newspaper with pagination of below 24 pages.

Editor of Randburg Sun and Northcliff Melville Times, Aimee McGill had this to say, “Our teams work incredibly hard to produce content that our readers can’t get anywhere else. In a time of social media, it is more important that ever to ensure that what we publish is of a high standard, is valuable to our readers and is factually correct. We are proud of what we have managed to achieve.”

An award of this nature shows collaboration between an entire team, and it is important to acknowledge each department involved – so to our production team, our sub-editors, our layout artists, our sales team, our bookings, and administration teams, our distribution team and our editorial department – thank you so much for the work you do to keep our newspapers up there with the best.
