Armed hijackers arrested

BRYANSTON – An armed robbery occurred on the corner of Main Avenue and Peter Place on 3 July.


Three suspects were arrested for armed robbery after a robbery occurred on the corner of Main Avenue and Peter Place on 3 July.

Randburg Police Station spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said, “The victim was driving when approached by two suspects while stationary at the robots. The suspects approached him, threatened him with a firearm and took his belongings. They ran away.”

As this particular intersection has been identified as a hotspot for crime, police officers have been deployed to monitor it.

Maja said, “The officers apprehended the three suspects. Two toy guns used by the suspects to threaten the victims, and the properties that were robbed were recovered.

“The management of the station would like to applaud the members involved for their commitment and dedication to get rid of the bad elements in our society. We further encourage the community to report any suspicious activities around them on the crime stop line 08600 10111 or sector cellphone numbers.”

The three suspects are expected to appear soon in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court to face charges of robbery with firearm.
