Two suspected drug dealers arrested in Windsor

LINDEN – Two suspects in separate incidents were arrested by the Linden police for possession of drugs and suspicion of drug dealing on 26 June.

Two suspects in separate incidents were arrested by the Linden police for possession of drugs and on suspicion of drug dealing on 26 June.

The first suspect was arrested for possession of drugs in the Blackheath area.

Linden Police Station spokesperson Constable Takalani Matumba said, “The police were on duty patrolling in the area when they stopped a person who, to them, looked suspicious.”

According to Matumba, the officers asked to search the male suspect, but before they could search him, he confessed that he was dealing in marijuana. “They then searched him, and inside his trouser pocket, they found five packets of dagga. He was arrested and detained at the Linden Police Station.”

On the same day during a separate incident, the police were patrolling on the corner of Alice Street and Lords Avenue in Windsor West when they spotted a male who they knew to be involved in the theft of motor vehicles and drug dealing.

Matumba said, “Officers went to him and introduced themselves and begun to search him. In his right hand, he was holding a black leather zipper pouch. When they opened the pouch, they found three glass pipes that are used to smoke drugs. They also found a brown glass bottleneck pipe with a clear plastic bag containing crystal meth. The suspect was arrested and detained at the Linden Police Station.”
