Cash no longer accepted at licensing centre

RANDBURG – The Randburg Licensing Centre will no longer be accepting cash payments.

Ward 102 councillor David Potter would like to inform the community that the Randburg Licensing Centre will no longer be accepting cash payments.

This will come into effect from 1 July in an attempt to curb the chance of corruption or an armed robbery taking place.

Potter said, “The decision was taken by the City management to minimise fraud and reduce the chance of armed robbery at the centre.

“As councillor for the area in which the Randburg Civic Centre is in, I welcome the decision to ensure that the Randburg Licensing Department is safe for all users including the staff.”

Only credit and debit cards will be accepted for the issuing and renewal of driver’s licences, learner’s licences, vehicle licences and other services.
