Oooth rocks Randpark crowd at DVD launch

RANDPARK – Bordeaux rocker Jason Oosthuizen and his band Oooth launched their live DVD called Keeping it Casual.

Bordeaux rocker Jason Oosthuizen and his band Oooth launched their live DVD at the High Ball Craft Bar at the Fairway Hotel on 19 May.

Intense drumming and loud guitars are but a few elements of his rock band, which is why their new live DVD Keeping it Casual is reviving the plain and simple rock ‘n’ roll sound with no restrains on lyrical content.

Oosthuizen entertained fans and invited guests who had gathered for the launch with renditions of his new music and familiar favourites, enjoying a fine selection of beverages and snacks to top it all off.

Following the live performance, guests were treated to a preview of the live DVD.

The musician, who started playing the drums at the age of four, has since gone on to play in some of the best bands to come out of the country, such as Jack Parow, Fokofpolisiekar, Die Heuwels Fantasties, and Van Coke Kartel.

In 2018, Jason decided to broaden his musical horizons to singer/songwriter, replacing his drumsticks with an electric guitar and mic as the frontman of Oooth.

Partnering with his fellow band mates, the band has played several tribute acts to well-known bands such as Guns n’ Roses, Led Zeppelin and Bryan Adams to name a few.

For Oooth, Jason has written, recorded and produced most aspects of the project himself.
