BIP moves on up

JOHANNESBURG NORTH – Since leaving their old home in North Riding, British International Preparatory School learners have settled into their Fourways campus.

A new era of learning has been ushered in as the children of British International Preparatory School settle into their new state-of-the-art campus.

Since leaving their old home in North Riding on 25 March, the children are better equipped with new classrooms, a multimedia centre, library, school hall, and sports fields, and still holding on to the same learning experience that they know and love.

School principal Garth Thompson said, “Our children are well settled, but most importantly, they are happy. Our new campus is not that far from the previous one, and the majority of our learners live nearby, so luckily this was not a massive upheaval for them.

“We will always remember our old temporary home in North Riding, but it feels great to be in a permanent facility in Johannesburg North.”

The school’s new sports fields and other facilities are scheduled to be finished by the start of the third term.

“We are very excited about the new sports facilities as we will be able to add additional sports such as swimming and cricket, which we never had before and was an issue that a lot of our parents had. It will help us to further our children’s learning and health experience, as well as creating a few new job opportunities for others, and the opportunity to host other schools here too.”

The school’s aim is to make their school as ‘green’ as possible. In the planning of the new building, the school has created space for solar energy and water conservation.

Thompson added, “We are not done yet. We are still open for registrations and this move has allowed us to generate more space for new faces to join us, especially in our early year’s programme which caters for three to five year olds.”
