The body of the man was found lying on the pavement when the ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at 6.30am.
The vehicle that had struck the man was found on the opposite side of the road.
“Paramedics assessed the patient and found that he had sustained a fatal head injury. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead,” read the statement released by ER24.
The driver of the vehicle was assessed and found to have not sustained any injuries.
ER24 added that the details surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
