Police respond to bomb scare

ROBINDALE – April fool's joke or serious bomb scare?

Police have confirmed that the bomb threat they attended to was a false alarm.

Linden Police Station was called to a business property on 1 April for what was expected to be a bomb scare. They arrived at the property in Robindale with their explosives unit and evacuated the building in order to search it. The spokesperson for the station Constable Takalani Matumba stated that there was no bomb on the premises.

“It was a false alarm. Our dog unit was here and they checked the building only to find out that it was cleaning detergent.”

Matumba went on to say that a bomb threat case has been opened and an investigation will be conducted into the matter.
