FONTAINEBLEAU – Freelance photographer, Gainor Andrews tells us why it's important to have a professional photo with your CV.

FONTAINEBLEAU – Gainor Andrews, a freelance photographer shares on the importance of having a professional photograph accompany your CV.

Andrews has been in the business of photography for about seven years now and she was camera-ready to take professional pictures, “I think it is important because it shows your professionalism and that you are actually serious about getting the position.”

She added a picture tells a lot about oneself, and most importantly, it gives your prospective employer further understanding of who you are. “In an image, your body language and personality is being shown.”

Andrews said in a professional photograph, it is important to lean forward as it makes you look more approachable and that the image you chose has you smiling so it gives off the impression you are friendly. “If you look grumpy in a photograph it might say you are not pleasant to work with and they most likely won’t hire you to work with other people and if you are going for a job where you are going to be talking to people, its important you look like you will actually be able to do it.”

The photographer also said some people tend to accompany their CV with selfies taken in unprofessional environments – these pictures give off the impression as it comes off to say you do not care.
