Victory for St Stithians

LYME PARK – St Stithians are on a four-year water polo roll.


LYME PARK – St Stithians Girls’ College won their fourth water polo tournament in a row under the direction of coach Pierre le Roux, beating the hosts Roedean School 8–3 in the final.

In third place was St Peter’s College and in fourth, Crawford College Lonehill. The participating schools were required to partner with less fortunate schools or organisations on the day. Old Mutual, the sponsors of the event donated R50 000 which was shared among the top three schools for their Learn to Swim programmes.

Additionally, they donated R10 000 to each of the partner schools which participated in a gala on the day. St Stithians Girls’ College partnered with Hearts of Hope, a community based, a non-profit organisation that provides a safe home for vulnerable children.

Players of St Stithians Girls’ College who were selected as members of the tournament team were Jordan Wedderburn (who scored six goals in the final), Tatum Lomax, Natasja Troskie, Zànne Smit (vice-captain) and Jennifer Everett (captain).
