Eskom announces stage 2 load-shedding

JOHANNESBURG – The City of Johannesburg announced in a statement that stage 2 load shedding will be implemented by Eskom today.


Stage 2 load-shedding is expected to be from 3pm until 11pm today.

In a statement, City Power said, “Johannesburg Water will communicate with City Power when water levels are running low at certain towers. City Power will then ensure that power supply is restored to that specific area.”

The City of Johannesburg released the below information regarding the areas that will be affected today:

Stage 1 load shedding is still scheduled from 11h00 to 23h00 and the blocks affected are:

According to the statement, City Power has added 30 minutes to these schedules to allow for rebooting of the grids. As the supply may be restored at any time, customers are urged to treat their electricity supply points as live at all times.
