SA out of the woods from ‘intense’ cyclone Idia but warning for those planning to travel to Mozambique
The SA Weather Service said South Africa won't be affected by Cyclone Idia but issued a severe warning for those planning to travel to Mozambique where there has been extreme flooding.
According to our sister publication The Citizen, South Africa is ‘safe’ from any impact of Cyclone Idia which is battering many parts of Mozambique.
The cyclone is expected to make landfall in on 14 March, at least 10 people have been killed due to heavy rains that have affected many provinces prone to flooding.

The South African weather service said the cyclone poses no threat to the country at the moment.

The South African Weather Service said the system could make landfall in the Beira area, an advisory for those travelling to Mozambique. The system will weaken into overland depression by 15 March but the country will still have torrential rainfall and widespread flooding, in the Sofala and Mancia provinces.
