CPF to elect new committee

DOUGLASDALE – The Douglasdale CPF will be holding an election to elect a new committee for Sector 1.

DOUGLASDALE – The Douglasdale Community Police Forum will be holding a special elective meeting where voting will take place for their CPF Sector 1 Committee on 11 March at 7pm at Sharonlea Primary School.

Freda Boiles of the CPF said, “We are a legal community structure established in terms of the South Africa Police Service Act and are mandated to facilitate community and police relations within Douglasdale precinct. The CPF serves as the mouthpiece of the community with the police and vice versa on policing matters and other relevant safety issues.

“When the SAPS and the local community of DD CPF Sector 1 work towards achieving a common goal, a safer community will emerge because it will be highly unlikely that criminals attempt any criminal activities once they know they are being watched.”

The Douglasdale CPF Sector 1 includes the suburbs of Douglasdale (on the western side of Douglas Drive), Jukskei Park, Johannesburg North (on the southern side of Witkoppen Road), Olivedale, Bryanston (on the northern side of N1 Concrete Highway), Sharonlea and North Riding.

According to Boiles, nomination forms and portfolio descriptions are available at the Douglasdale Police Station, and electronic copies of these forms can be requested from cpffeedback@iafrica.com.
