WINDSOR – More drugs taken off the streets of the community.

Linden police had a successful special operation in Windsor East and West on 15 February.

They arrested two suspects in possession of drugs. Linden Police Station spokesperson Constable Takalani Matumba explained how both suspects were arrested.

In the first arrest, Matumba said, “Members of the police were patrolling around Windsor East and on the corner of Duchesses Avenue and Beatrice Street. They spotted a male and approached him and asked to search him. While searching him, in his right hand they found a small brown plastic containing a white powder suspected to be drugs.”

The second arrest came when the police were continuing their patrol and spotted another man sitting on the street corner. Police approached the man and asked to search him and found four bow ties of cocaine, a syringe with a needle and 5mg tablets in his pocket.

Matumba said both suspects were detained and will appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court. Linden’s Station Commander, Colonel Ahmed Zaieed Musthan has applauded all the officers who were involved in the arrests.
