Olivedale Retirement Village’s security team wins excellence award

OLIVEDALE – New security team has won the Bryan Smith Estates Excellence Award.


OLIVEDALE – Olivedale Retirement Village is proud to announce that their security team won this year’s Bryan Smith Estates Excellence Award.

Every year the security company, Fidelity ADT awards the top team within their estates group in Gauteng, the Bryan Sith Estates Excellence Award Trophy. The group comprises 98 estates that vary from 40 to 3 000 units.

The Olivedale Retirement Village security team, that is led by Fidelity ADT site manager Jack Moruti, won the trophy for the last quarter of last year. The trophy is on display at reception.

The award is given based on certain criteria, how they handle themselves on site and how they conduct themselves. “We have a dedicated team that knows what they are doing. They are always on time in full uniform. They know how to do their job when it comes to patrolling,” said Moruti.

Bethuel Phandavitudzi, Moruti’s manager said, “This award is a very special award. The purpose is to give motivation to the employees. Each time it circulates, depending on which site is performing better than the other sites.

“We are like a support structure to the residents. When I met Jack for the first time, during his interview, I said ‘this is the man.’ He knows everyone, he knows his job and he’s dedicated. We did a lot of assessment before even thinking about giving him this award, it was well deserved.”

Bob Bromfield, the chairman of the security committee at Olivedale Retirement Village said, “It’s a whole different atmosphere. This is a retirement village, so they have their hands full.”
