Johannesburg West Cluster police investigate gruesome murder
RANDBURG – Police officers discovered a plastic container consisting of human flesh at the scene.
The Johannesburg West Cluster, comprising Randburg, Linden, Douglasdale and Honeydew police stations were called in for assistance at the scene of a suspected gruesome murder in Roodepoort on 11 January.
When the officers arrived on the scene in the afternoon at Van der Linde Street, officers discovered a plastic container consisting of human flesh.
Randburg Police Station spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja told Randburg Sun, “Next to the plastic container was a driver’s license. Our preliminary investigations led the police members to a house in the area, whereby they came across the gruesome discovery of a pool of blood.”
According to Maja, officers started to search the house in the presence of the alleged suspect and they discovered more human body parts.
A 25-year-old suspect was immediately placed under arrest for murder.
The motive for the killing is not yet known as the investigation continues.
