It’s time for ‘big school’ at Rand Park Primary

Parents made their way to the gates of Rand Park Primary School to wave goodbye for now to their little ones on their first day of ‘big school’ on 9 January.

Excited Grade 1s stand by a sign saying ‘Stop crying mom! It’s just my first day of big school!’.

Anxious parents take one last look at their little ones through the windows of a Rand Park Primary School classroom before leaving.

With some tears shed, mostly by worrying moms, the little ones were eager to meet new friends and the teachers they will come to know over the next year.

School principal Nic Pienaar said, “At Rand Park Primary School, we are so happy to welcome all the bright and shining new faces entering Grade 1 this year. We know that they will be happy at our school, and we hope to give them a bright future as they stay with us until Grade 7.
