Ferndale’s head boy enjoyed his matric year

KENSINGTON B – Ferndale's head boy shares his future goals and plans.

Emmanuel Omisakin, the head boy of Ferndale High School has shared how he experienced his matric year.

“Being head boy had its sacrifices but it also had its benefits and highlights. Speaking to the learners was fun. There were challenges in terms of management because you had to come up with a roster with the head girl and that wasn’t easy,” said Emmanuel.

At the end of the day Emmanuel wanted the matric class to be a united front and according to him, eventually, they did.

He said at the beginning of the year everyone started out excited, full of life and energy but then June came, which was a wake-up call. “We had to pull up our socks and work hard but besides that the rest of the year was proper. Overall matric was fun,” said Emmanuel.

Emmanuel wants to study civil engineering and has been accepted by three different institutions. “Since Grade 9 I decided that it was my only path, I didn’t care about the second choices,” he said laughing.
