British International College celebrates 20 year milestone

BRYANSTON – British International College recently celebrated 20 years of schooling.

British International College is taking pride in celebrating its 20 year milestone.

Just before the start of the 20th year of the college, their new principal Irena Ilieva was appointed to take the college forward as it aims to scale new heights that will continue to focus on providing the highest quality education to their students.

“We plan to build on the great start that the college had, and the 20 years of rich history, to make the next 20 years a period of incremental growth for the college as we further establish ourselves as the yardstick for Cambridge High School education,” said Ilieva in an interview on their birthday celebrations.

Since the college was established in 1998 as a simple Sixth Form College, Bic started offering A-levels to learners who wanted something more international than a traditional South African matric.

These A-levels were offered to learners who had completed their matric and wanted more, or to the very brightest of learners who wanted to complete A-levels instead of matric.

Following the runaway success, Bic began to offer IGCSE (O-Level), and later on full British High School curriculum.

“Over the last twenty years, Bic blossomed and is now well known as an institution offering superior education with their learners perennially achieving the best Cambridge results in South Africa, and often even in the world.

These great results have seen many students go on to study at top universities all over the world, in the USA, UK, Holland, Italy, throughout Africa and Asia and of course, in South Africa,” said Ilieva.
