One Small Act of Kindness and Doorway to Dignity in association with The Street Store hosted a successful pop-up store, which is the world's 801st store.

Retail therapy is one of the many luxuries displaced people are not able to enjoy as much as many of us do.

We all know that euphoric feeling one gets when you welcome a new season with a brand-new dress or a cool pair of shorts.

Feeling special and looking good go hand-in-hand with confidence.

To spread this confidence, One Small Act of Kindness and Doorway to Dignity in association with The Street Store, hosted the world’s 801st pop-up store for displaced and destitute people living in and around Randburg.

CEO of Doorway to Dignity, Trevor Webster is happy he managed to make a difference in people’s lives.

The charitable event, which was held at the Ferndale Bible Chapel on 1 September, had the displaced receive an invitation to the pop-up store.

CEO of Doorway to Dignity, Trevor Webster explained this invitation was a way to make the event as dignified as they could.

One cannot help but think how the first day of spring was a fitting day for those in need to welcome newness into their lives through the kind gesture of the community, who donated the clothing as well as two charities.

The pop-up store was completely free and people could help themselves to a wide range of goods from ladies, to children’s and men’s clothes as well as shoes and toiletries.

It was a sight to behold to see the chapel grounds filled with those in need enjoy an event as rare and as fulfilling to all involved.
