Kip McGrath Learning Centre’s show for times tables

BOSKRUIN – Kip McGrath Randpark Ridge Learning Centre's Times Tables Competition put maths on stage and made it fun.

Simple time-table learning was recently taken to the big stage in a fun and entertaining event.

As a community-driven initiative, Kip McGrath Randpark Ridge Learning Centre held their Times Tables Competition at the Rhema Bible Youth Centre on 4 August.

Director of the centre Shereen Julius, together with her team, worked tirelessly to put on the successful event.

Julius said, “The event was aimed at enhancing and encouraging learners to learn their times tables in a fun way.”

The four schools that participated were Weltevredendpark Primary, Rand Park Primary, Sharonlea Primary, and Curro Aurora.

Julius said, “An amazing 130 contestants entered the first round of this competition with 30 remaining in the second round.”

The final 10 contestants, who went through to the grand finale, competing for the first prize of R10 000, included Zoe de Jager, Sayan Narainsamy, Aarush Kale, Mirielle Ejike, Rheece Nelson, Daniel Frylinck, Mia Clemo, Celina Naicker, Caitlin Smith and Kiasha Rampersad.

The ultimate winners of the event were Daniel Frylinck in first place, Sayan Narainsamy in second place, and Aarush Kale in third.

Julius added, “We would like to give our congratulations to all the winners and other participants, and we hope that we have made a resounding success impacting on children’s lives.”
