The body of a newborn baby was found along South Africa Drive and Angola Avenue in Cosmo City on 21 August.
The baby had been flushed out of a blocked sewage drain at about 8am.
An image of the baby’s body shows it lying in a puddle of flowing dirty water surrounded by what looks like faeces.
Captain Balan Muthan of Honeydew Police Station confirmed an inquest investigation had been opened and a case of concealment of birth.
