Young rider excels at SANESA competition

ROBINDALE – Horserider excels at provincial competition.

Mone van der Breggen grabbed a third-place finish in the South African National Equestrian Schools Association (SANESA) Gauteng finals competition earlier this month.

The competition was held at Eaton Farm and, although she was nervous, she managed to excel in the competition.

“I love my horse Peter Pan because he will do anything for me and I love the feeling of being free while riding a horse,” said van der Breggen.

“I was nervous because my warm-up was stressful as the arena to do so was cramped and 36 riders were trying to warm up. I ended up knocking over one of the instructors during my practice run so my nerves were rattled before the competition even started.

The Grade 6 youngster now waits to find out if she has made it into the provincial team.
