27 injured as bakkie rolls on N1
STRIJDOM PARK – Two are said to have sustained serious injuries during the incident.
Twenty-seven people sustained injuries when a bakkie rolled on the N1 north near the Malibongwe off-ramp on 4 July.
According to ER24’s Ineke van Huyssteen, two of the injured suffered serious injuries while others were minor to moderate.
“Paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 7am, they found some of the patients lying and sitting next to the highway,” said Huyssteen. “The driver was still seated in the bakkie.”
The injured were transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
The circumstances surrounded the incident are unclear and police are investigating.
