Taxi driver sustains serious injuries after hitting a lamppost on Republic Road

RANDBURG – Six passengers walked away with minor to moderate injuries.

Passengers were treated on the scene before they were transported to nearby hospitals.

A taxi driver sustained serious injuries and his passengers were injured when he crashed into a lamppost in Randburg this morning.

According to ER24’s Russell Meiring, the six commuters who had sustained minor to moderate injuries were found walking about on the scene while the driver was seated in the vehicle.

“Paramedics treated the patients and provided the driver with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment,” said Meiring.

Further investigations will be conducted to determine the cause of the accident.
