Pincode Events does it for Windsor and Madiba

WINDSOR EAST – Serving the community in honour of Mandela.

Humanitarians in the area regularly feed residents, but they added Mandela Day to their programme.

Pincode Events, with the help of Kwik Spar Windsor, feed the homeless and poor.

Although the programme on July 18 was part of the Mandela Day celebrations, this is an ongoing initiative by the events company. Kwik Spar donated 20 loaves of bread and soup so that more of the community could be fed.

More and more people come to get some soup and bread in Windsor East from members of Pincode Events.

Along with their in-house DJ Afronerd, who was raised in Windsor, Pincode Events members stood outside Rita Daycare Centre to feed the community. It did not take long for word to go around and the community was lining up to receive a portion of soup and bread.

CEO and events coordinator Mahlatse Kekana said they decided to incorporate the 67 minutes for Mandela to their initiative.

“Because Pincode events are dedicated to giving 10 per cent of its profits to charity, we feed the hungry and homeless in Windsor East monthly,” said Kekana. “Our initiative is not only for the homeless but for the community because we believe that we are who we are because of the people that surround us.

So we give back to the elderly, children and the homeless, even some who see what we are doing from their apartment balconies would come and get some food. We encourage more of the community to come forward and we can assist them with food.”

Pincode Events will return to Windsor East next month to continue their initiative.
