Ward 101 on track with upkeep of greenery

NORTH RIDING – Ward 101 councillor Dalu Cele updates residents on the status of service delivery in the area.

The local ward councillor is happy with the state of the upkeep and cleaning of parks and sidewalks in the area.

Ward 101 councillor Dalu Cele, together with Region C oversight MMC councillor Leah Knott and other City officials, conducted a service delivery oversight of the ward.

Cele said, “We visited the key sites that need urgent attention, such as the community issues at Golden Harvest Park, the Old Municipal Nursery, the major dumping site at the corner of Malibongwe and President Fouche, as well the major dumping site along Epsom Avenue in North Riding. All the issues raised during this exercise are being prioritised to be resolved.”

Cele said, “In terms of grass cutting, I am pleased to advise that the arterial routes in our ward have been cut and are in a reasonably good condition. The challenge remains with open spaces and Eskom servitudes that I continue to drive to get grass cutting to be done.”

Cele added that he is forever grateful to the residents in his ward that participate in monthly clean-up operations. “Our next A Re Sebetseng event is to encourage the community to give their 67 mins to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s 100 Years,” said Cele.

The A Re Sebetseng event will take place on 21 July at 9.30am, starting at the Summerfield Shopping Centre in Boskruin, with a focus on cleaning the areas near Kowie Road.
