Ward 102’s councillor conducted a tour to determine the standing of service delivery across the ward and inform the public of his findings.
The intensive tour by ward councillor David Potter on 14 June covered everything from the status of removing graffiti to the repair of infamous potholes.

“Ward 102 spans over 15 square kilometres, so it was impossible to drive every road and visit every issue. What was a concerning common theme was the lack of visible road markings at key intersections across the Ward.”
Potter hopes that with the approved 2018/2019 Operational Expenditure Budget that road markings will be a key feature in the delivery of visible services.
“My office will continue to put pressure on the Joburg Roads Agency for such,” said Potter.

He noted that every single traffic light on the route of his ward tour was working, except for two turning arrows at one an intersection. He also praised efforts from City Power to repair streetlights. “Teams all over the ward [are] repairing street lights. Big thanks go to the street lighting manager at Randburg Depot for his dedication and responsiveness to all issues raised.”

Potter also commended the work done by informal recyclers. “The informal recycling economy helps ensure less goes to landfill and more gets recycled.”
